And James Turgeon knows what hard work and commitment is all about. Turgeon was selected as the winner for the school’s 2011 Dream Award. The Dream Award is given to students who maintain solid attendance, maintain good grades, perform well above expectations and help others toward achieving their career goals.

A graduate from WyoTech’s Daytona campus, Turgeon graduated from the Motorcycle Technology (European and Domestic specialties) program with a perfect attendance record. He was also on the Honor Roll and is a member of the National Honors Technical Society.

When the economy tanked, Turgeon was laid off for a year with no job prospects on the horizon. Having worked for years in the automotive industry and as a diesel mechanic for Ford, Turgeon decided to enroll at WyoTech where he could pursue his dream of working in the motorcycle technology field.

WyoTech turned out to be a great choice. Turgeon excelled in the classroom and took on a leadership role mentoring and tutoring classmates. A month before graduating, Turgeon accepted a position with Superchips and now works as a technician.

Turgeon’s Continued Pursuit of Excellence

For Turgeon, education doesn’t just stop at WyoTech. He plans to earn a mechanical engineering degree in the near future. His $2,500 scholarship award helps him continue his pursuit of educational excellence.

If you’re considering training for a career with a future, contact WyoTech today and ask about our Automotive Technology; Diesel Technology; Collision/Refinishing Technology; Motorcycle Technology; Marine Specialist; Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC); Electrician and Plumbing Technology programs and the support we offer to help students succeed.
