How’s this for a career: Building custom chassis for racing cars, dune buggies, dragsters and hot rods? Yes, there are people who do this for a living. And you could be one of them, provided you have the talent, skills and experience to deliver what the industry demands.
No one can give you talent, but skills and experience are things you can acquire at WyoTech, one of America’s leading automotive training schools. At WyoTech’s campus in Blairsville, Pa., students in the Automotive Technology program can choose to concentrate in Motorsports Chassis Fabrication. In addition to the basics of 21st century automotive technology, students in the Motorsports Chassis Fabrication concentration get intensive hands-on training in:
- The study of metal types and configurations
- Measuring, pattern and outline development
- Mechanical drawing reading and development
- Attachment methods
- Metal finishing
- MIG and TIG welding
- Frame design and modification
The program is taught by auto industry pros who bring years of experience to their classroom instruction. Students get to work with the same type of tools and equipment they’d find in a modern workshop or garage, including engine lathes, vertical mills and acetylene torches.
Upon graduation, students can take advantage of WyoTech’s Career Services department, which offers ongoing job search support that can help match graduates with potential employers.
