This Motorcycle Mechanic School Lets You Choose Your Specialty

Becoming a motorcycle repair specialist helps ensure you get to work on the kinds of bikes you enjoy most. Specializing in certain brands or makes of motorcycles can also increase your value to people who own those particular types of machines.
WyoTech in Daytona Beach, Fla., is a motorcycle technician school that allows you to concentrate on one of four specialties when you take the school’s general Motorcycle Technology career education program. Operating in the heart of the “Motorcycle Capital of the World,” WyoTech offers specialty programs in Asian Motorcycles, European Motorcycles, Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and Off-Road Power. WyoTech’s Motorcycle Technology program can be completed in as little as 12 months, after which WyoTech’s Career Services department can help you identify and contact local employers familiar with the motorcycle school’s reputation for education excellence.
WyoTech’s Asian Motorcycle specialty teaches students how to diagnose, maintain and repair motorcycles for such manufacturers as Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha. The European Motorcycle specialty focuses on bikes from Triumph and Ducati. Students taking the Harley-Davidson specialty learn the ins and outs of H-D’s famous Big Twin and V-Rod engines, while those taking the school’s Off-Road Power specialty get training in the mechanical and electric systems associated with All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), personal watercraft and snowmobiles.
WyoTech’s instructors are professional motorcycle mechanics with experience both in the classroom and in professional motorcycle repair facilities. Because WyoTech classes are small, students in the Motorcycle Technology program receive a high degree of personal attention and get many hours of practical hands-on experience working on a variety of motorcycle models.
Graduates of the motorcycle repair school often go from WyoTech into entry-level jobs as:
- Dealership Motorcycle Technicians
- Specialty Shop Motorcycle Technicians
- Performance Shop Technicians
- Motorcycle Assembly Specialists
- Customer Service Representatives
- Parts Representatives
