WyoTech Daytona Campus Students Volunteer At Hospice

WyoTech Daytona Campus Students Volunteer At HospiceDuring the weekend of September 25, a group of 10 students from WyoTech’s Daytona campus, including six Eagle Techs, volunteered their time for a service project at The Hospice of Volusia/Flagler.

WyoTech volunteers pressure washed the outside of the building and cleaned up debris to provide the residents with a clean environment. They also weeded and landscaped the Hospice’s “Memory Garden” to enhance the surroundings of this important community facility. Jenny Davis, director of student services at WyoTech’s Daytona campus said, “They have an amazing campus and we were proud to help them maintain it and keep it beautiful.” She continued, “They provided donuts for breakfast and a delicious lunch of home cooked Sloppy Joes. Some of the students said they were very appreciative because this was the first home cooked meal they have had since they came to Florida!”

Dee Young, volunteer services coordinator for Hospice writes, “Thanks again for your generous donation of time and ‘elbow grease!’ It gives new meaning to the old saying ‘many hands make light work!'”
