WyoTech is proud to announce two thrilling events scheduled to rock the
Sacramento region this spring. The 28th Annual Funny Car Fever drag race on
April 23 and 24, 2010, and the 33rd Annual Nitro Nite of Fire on June 11 and
12, 2010, are expected to attract thousands of race fans from North America.
As part of the event, WyoTech students will serve as temporary crew members
of select race teams. John Hurd, president of the WyoTech-Sacramento campus
said, "We are thrilled to offer this opportunity to our top automotive
students. They will learn from some of the best racers in the country and
have fun at the same time."
Coordinator of the races, 619 Promotions, expects approximately 8,000
spectators at each event. Both weekends will feature an eight car field of
nitro burning race cars that will complete the quarter mile in just over
five seconds.
Jet cars, top fuel dragsters, funny cars and sportsman classes
are part of the action for an event that's sure to please any drag race
enthusiast.
Lisa Jennings of 619 Promotions said, "I am pleased to have
WyoTech on board. As a topnotch automotive trade school, they will provide
knowledgeable crew members for several teams."
