 Continuing the huge success of Bike Week, WyoTech hosts this year’s Bike Week celebration at destination Daytona Beach, Florida. The Horsepower Shootout allows competitors to match up bikes from stock with those that are heavily modified.

Participants can expect to see some serious outbursts of horsepower thunder on  DynoJet’s  dynamometer.  Participants get to stand back and watch the measurement of force and power put out by the thunderous bikes on display.

Here’s the 5-day schedule:

Monday thru Friday, March 1st – March 5th – 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily

Contestants from across the country will be competing on the WyoTech Dyno to determine whose motorcycle produces the most horsepower. Open qualifying in 14 categories ranging from V-twins to the unlimited class is scheduled Tuesday thru Thursday. The championship round explodes Friday as top qualifiers will be back pushing their bikes to the limit for trophies, prizes and bragging rights.

Contestants Paddock -  WyoTech – Daytona Dynamometer Center Parking Lot

Monday thru Friday, March 1st – March 5th – 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily

The cream of the 20th Annual Brute Horsepower Shootout crop will have their bikes and rigs set up in the Contestants Paddock all week as they fine-tune their bikes’ engines to make qualifying runs to prepare for the Friday’s Championship round.  Meet the contestants as they set-up their bikes to make dyno runs.Technical Seminars – WyoTech – Daytona Classrooms and Shops

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, March 2nd – March 4th – Seminars scheduled @ 10 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. each day and includes a complimentary lunch.

These 2-hour seminars are designed for motorcycle enthusiasts and will be presented by WyoTech instructors.  These topics are basic Motorcycle Maintenance and Roadside Troubleshooting & Safety.  These sessions promise to provide motorcyclists valuable information that will enhance their riding experience.  The seminars are open to the public on a first-come-first-serve basis at no charge.

Off-Campus Event – Daytona International Speedway

Friday, February 26th thru Saturday, March 6th (nine days) – 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily

WyoTech Daytona representatives will meet and greet race fans who are visiting Daytona International Speedway during the Speedway nine-day Daytona 200 Week By Honda event.  The WyoTech reps will be under a tent set up in the Speedway’s Sport Bike/Metric area and will be available to discuss all aspects of the motorcycle and marine technical school’s operation with race fans.

Off-Campus Event – Bruce Rossmeyer’s Daytona Harley Davidson

Friday, February 26th thru Sunday, March 7th (nine days) – 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily

WyoTech – Daytona representatives and students will meet and greet Bike Week enthusiasts who are visiting Bruce Rossmeyer’s Harley Davidson dealership located at Destination Daytona in Ormond Beach, Florida.  The WyoTech reps will be set-up under a tent in front of the world’s largest Harley Davidson’s dealership, which is in walking distance or a short tram ride to the WyoTech campus.
