WyoTech – Laramie Named to Presidential Honor Roll For Community Service for Second Consecutive Year
Laramie, Wyoming; February 9, 2009 – The Corporation for National and Community Service honored WyoTech – Laramie today with a place on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for exemplary service efforts and service to America’s communities.
The great thing about WyoTech is that, in attending, you not only get top-knotch career tech school training, but you’ll feel right at home studying alongside people of like mind and character.
WyoTech is the official tech school of the NHRA, and is breaking the traditional role that male mechanics and fabricators play in career tech school training. WyoTech has seen an influx of women at its six campuses in recent years.
Perhaps the best definition of post-secondary education is the education a person receives after high school. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, adult post secondary education has been on the rise since 2005. Even though the economy is experiencing a slump, it doesn’t appear to be stopping adults from pursing higher education goals.
There are many students who choose to attend WyoTech because we have connections with top companies in the industry. Our graduates are quality material, and these companies know it. This is one of the main reason they visit our campuses during their annual recruiting season. They also work with WyoTech Career Services Representatives to hire our graduates upon graduation.
September 11, changed the lives of countless people, and Rafael Rios was one of them. Rios served in the Marine Corps from 1978 to 1988, and was working in the medical field in Texas when he made the decision to go back into the military, this time in the National Guard. “I wanted to do something for my country,” said Rios.
The demand in the field for women is validated by the fact there is always a need for qualified automotive technicians.
