WyoTech Laramie graduate, Jared Beene, was chosen to the receive the school’s annual Dream Award. The Award is presented yearly by each WyoTech campus to an outstanding graduate who has overcome personal obstacles to change his or her life through the benefits of education.

No doubt, the country is facing rough times ahead. We’re now in the midst of a recession, and unemployment seems to be on the rise. However, with all of this happening, we’re still experiencing a lack of preparation by many people who hope to enter the work force and those who have been laid off.
When a pipe needs fixing or a sink needs to be installed, a plumber can be a sight for sore eyes. Pipelayers, pipefitters, plumbers, and steamfitters to a lot more than this, however. These professionals have the job of installing and working on a variety of systems, from water treatment and skyscrapers, to homes.
The job market of today is not the same one as those of a generation past had to face. There used to be a time where you could graduate from a higher learning institution and expect to get hired by a corporation waiting to fill a slot with shining stars willing to work their way up from the bottom of the heap.
Over this past holiday, Street Rodders from across Sacramento showed up to display their vehicles and donate toys at WyoTech Sacramento’s First Annual WyoTech Toy Run. The drive collected more than 150 toys for the Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento, which is a provider of emergency and temporary shelter and care for children between the ages of 2 and 17. These children are victims of abuse, neglect, and abandonment.
