There's Always Something to do in Daytona Beach

beachvolleyball.JPG“I’m bored” is a complaint rarely heard from residents of Daytona Beach. Situated midway along Florida’s Atlantic Coast, Daytona Beach offers plenty to see and do, no matter what your interests.

Within Daytona Beach itself, entertainment options include:

  • The Beach! Daytona Beach is home to miles and miles of some of America’s most beautiful beaches, including the only beach in America where it’s legal to drive your car! Average daytime temperatures are in the 70s and above from March through December, with water temperatures in the low 70s to the low 80s from May to October. So just about every day’s a perfect day for some sun and sand!
  • Dining and Night Life. A major tourist destination as well as a prime “Spring Break” spot, Daytona Beach boasts literally hundreds of great restaurants and clubs priced to fit any budget. After-hours hot spots include the Clocktower Lounge, Razzles and the Boot Hill Saloon, which is traditionally “ground zero” during the city’s Bike Week and Biketoberfest events.
  • Sports & Recreation. As you might suspect, a lot of Daytona Beach-area recreational opportunities tend to be water-based. In addition to swimming, aquatic activities include surfing, water-skiing and jet-skiing. If you like your recreation to be land-based, you’ll find ample opportunities for biking, hiking and go-cart racing…not to mention 10 public golf courses!
  • Auto Racing! Do we have to remind you that Daytona Beach is home to NASCAR? The city is not only the address of NASCAR’s international headquarters, it’s also home to the Daytona International Speedway, one of the top racing venues in the country. Other auto-themed attractions in the area include the Klassix Auto Museum, which features a formidable collection of classic automobiles, motorcycles and “muscle cars,” the Richard Petty Driving Experience, and Daytona USA, an interactive motorsports attraction.
  • Shopping. Daytona Beach’s number-one shopping spot is the Volusia Mall. Opened in 1974, the single-level mall has 120 stores, including anchors JCPenney, Macy’s, Sears and Dillard’s. Other area retail centers include the Riverfront Marketplace, Ocean Walk Village and Bellair Plaza.
  • Other Central Florida Attractions. Being at one end of the Florida “Golden Girdle” that stretches along the I-4 southwest to Orlando and Tampa Bay, Daytona Beach is within just hours of such famous Central Florida attractions as the Walt Disney World Resort, Cape Canaveral, Universal Studios, SeaWorld of Florida, Cypress Gardens, Silver Springs and the Wild Waters and Wet ‘N’ Wild water parks.
