Sure-fire Ways to Improve Fuel Economy

No one knows what the price of fuel will be from day to day.  This means people are looking for ways every day to cut costs and save as much as possible.  Saving money on fuel has become a top priority for a lot of people these days.  However, simply buying a fuel efficient car may not be enough.

Here are several tips to help you keep a few dimes in your pocket!

1.  Make sure you maintain your car's tire pressure in accordance with the "psi" tire pressure numbers provided.

2. Try to carry loads in or on your car that are as light as possible. The lesser weight a car carries, the better the gas mileage.

3. Drive conservatively!  Avoid driving your car as if you were a race car driver.  Fast starts and excessive speeds burn up fuel much quicker.

4.  A lot of people may not know that keeping your car clean and waxed improves fuel efficiency. Set a regular schedule to wash and wax your vehicle.

5. If you're going to stop for any length of time, shut the engine off completely. This will save 10-20% on your usual fuel consumption.

6. Don't use your A/C if it's not necessary. You can also save fuel by keeping the windows up in your vehicle. If you have to roll them down, make sure air is able to circulate completely in and out the car.
