WyoTech 19th Annual Daytona Bike Week

WyoTech hosts this year’s Bike Week celebration at Destination Daytona, February 28th to March 8th, 2009.

For nearly 20 years WyoTech has hosted the Brute Horsepower Shootout, where competitors match up bikes from stock to those that are heavily modified.  Expect to see incredible outputs of horsepower on the school’s DynoJet TM dynos.

Competitors can squeeze more than 400 horses from a 1300 cc engine in Competition Classes ranging from small single cylinder bikes all the way up to the unlimited class. Winners get to take home prize packages. Competition is open to the public. The Shootout entry is free, and it starts on March 2, 2009.

New this year are WyoTech’s Seminars for Motorcycle Enthusiasts. Technical Seminars are offered by WyoTech’s knowledgeable faculty on week days during Bike Week. They’ll cover basic maintenance and upkeep-to roadside emergency. The seminar is free!

Daytona Bike Week Features Jason Britton’s “Team No Limit” and NHRA Pro Stock Racer Steve Johnson

Jason Britton and his motorcycle stunt riders “Team No Limit” will be performing at WyoTech’s campus in Ormond Beach, Florida during Daytona Bike Week 2009. There will be three shows daily on Thursday, March 5 at 12 pm, 2 pm and 4 pm and Friday, March 6 at 10:00am, 12:00pm and 2:00pm. Between shows Britton will be signing autographs and meeting the fans. As host of Speed channel’s “Super Bikes!,” Britton will also record the events at the WyoTech-Daytona campus for an upcoming segment of the show.

WyoTech-sponsored NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle racer Steve Johnson will also be on hand to meet the fans, sign autographs and provide tours of his 75 ft. NHRA race trailer. You can also test your skills on Steve’s reaction timer.

Where: WyoTech Daytona Campus, 470 Destination Daytona Lane, Ormond Beach, Florida.

Steve Johnson, NHRA Pro-Stock Drag Racer, will be on hand Wednesday through Friday (March 4-6) with his bikes and racing crew. He’ll bring his 75 ft. race rig with the reaction timer. Tours of the rig will be conducted each day they are there.

Look for Steve Johnson on  Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  He’ll be signing autographs in between and after the Sport Bike Show performances.
