Just think about it! In the winter you have all the roads and backcountry all to yourself, and there's no noise, crowds, or pesky insects to spoil all the fun.
Winter running just means you'll have to give your vehicle a little more attention than in the warmer months. For starters, keep your battery clean and charged. The colder the weather, the less juice you're likely to get out of your battery.
Fluids are just as important to keep an eye on. A mixture of 1:1 mixture of permanent-type antifreeze will keep your battery juiced to about 30 below. Keep the fuel tank as full as possible to prevent fuel line freezing from too high a moisture level.
Make sure your spark plugs are clean. The cold weather prevents your gas from vaporizing at its normal rate, causing your spark plugs to work extra hard.
It's highly advisable to have a driving kit that's fully stocked with extra links, jumper cables, and a survival kit with all the essentials. Oh, and make sure your cell phone has plenty of juice and range.
