So, What’s It Really Like to be A Gearhead?

auto-engine.jpgBeing a gearhead is an honor for some people in the world! While the term refers to anyone who pursues mechanical or technological interests with a consuming passion, as in automobiles or computers, it generally refers to the guys and gals who can be found in environments such as a WyoTech classroom.

When you hear the word 'inline four' and the picture in your mind is of a family of four standing in a long line at the grocery store; well, you may have taken a wrong turn somewhere along the way on that quiet road to recovery. Gearheads love walking through piles of gear boxes and navigating their way through the debris of torn apart engines.

Some people like the smell of pipe tobacco drifting lightly on a slight breeze; others can imagine themselves lost in a temple of some mysterious world-where the scent of some magical perfume stirs the senses; my favorite folks, gearheads, prefer the smell of diesel fuel and singed motor oil before having breakfast.

Gearheads like power! And the thought of being able to bust your knuckles one day on a state-of-the-art Hemi: 390 hp/407 lb-ft is too appealing to pass up. For the gearhead, nothing is too loud or too fast, and this is why the programs at WyoTech are so appealing to students.

WyoTech offers the type of learning environment where you can get the skills to take apart a vehicle engine and put it back together again. Our classrooms and campuses are designed for students who fit into the category of being a ‘different breed’. And, we build oversized workshops for tool hounds and gearheads to hone their skills in.

Being a gearhead is a good thing in life! If you're interested in taking your skills to the next level, why not check out the career tech school training that can help prepare you to find the jobs where you'll be paid to do the things you already love.
