Here's some great information for those of you who might have missed it the first time around:
Sacramento, California - May 6, 2008 - In an effort to curb illegal street racing, WyoTech, the Official Technical School of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), has partnered with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and Sacramento Raceway to promote Race the Strip, Not the Street-a series of drag races at Sacramento Raceway.
Held each Wednesday evening from February 2008 through November 2008, Race the Strip, Not the Street allows drag racing within the safe confines of an NHRA sanctioned racetrack.
"From the earliest days of the automobile, owners have raced to compare speed and ability against others," notes Sacramento campus president, John Hurd. "Racing is a fun and exciting sport, but it's a sport that belongs on a racetrack.
As a major supporter of the NHRA, an organization that does a fantastic job promoting racing at approved venues, WyoTech takes every opportunity to emphasize the importance of racing on the track and not on our city streets and highways."
