The Best Muscle Cars of all Time

No doubt, many of us are introduced to muscle cars from the movies, and if the plot is engaging enough, a car can reach legendary status overnight.

Here are some of the all time favorites:

1. Bullitt

This was a Steve MeQueen classic about a cop that hunts down the villain who killed a protected witness. The car was a 390 GT Mustang, dark green, and is logged as one of the best car chases on the silver screen ever. This car had muscle to spare! This was definitely back in the day, and you were the “man” or “woman” if you were driving anything that even remotely resembled it.

2. Back to the Future

The Delorean had its share of controversy, but this movie put in on the map forever. The 1981 DeLorean DMC 12, also made Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) household names. Approximately 8583 Deloreans were manufactured from 1981 to 1983. If you have one now, it’s considered somewhat of a classic.

3. The Fast and the Furious

Here’s a flick that had too many hot cars to mention! Vin Diesel’s Mazda RX-7 was scorching, and the 1970 Dodge Charger reminds me of the Dodge Challenger I sported back-in-the-day! There’s a 1995 Toyota Supra along with my favorite-Ferrari.

4. The Italian Job

The new Mini Coopers came out of hiding in this film, and though small, caught everyone’s attention for being able to zip through the city with ease. Not the first choice, but they get the job done! If they gave me one for free-I wouldn’t turn it down.

5. James Bond

“Shaken, but not stirred!” These days, I’ll personally take my poison any way I can get it! Who can forget the famous martini of 007! No doubt, it would be impossible to forget the Aston Martin Bond drove into the archives of history!

The number of muscle cars that should be on the list is near endless.
