How Does A Two-Stroke Engine Work?

The crankcase of a two-stroke engines pulls in the gas/air mixture.

During the downward stroke of the valve, the gas/air mixture is compressed to the top of the crankcase. And then at the end of the stroke, the remaining fuel mixture is released into the exhaust.
